Hutchinson?s doubles teams came up big time for the Tigers Monday in a 4-3 win over Montevideo.
All three of the Tigers? pairs won their matches, the most interesting of which was the No. 1 singles match. Hutch?s duo, Nicole Roepke and Allison Neubarth, lost the first set 6-2, and then squeeked out a 7-5 win the second set to stay alive. They finished strong with a 6-2 win in the third set to take the match.
Hutch needed all three of its doubles teams to win because Montevideo won the top three singles matches.
Only Tayla Card, the Tigers? No. 4 singles player, was able to win an easy 6-1, 6-0 match.
The Tigers (11-1) are on a four-match winning streak and face Mound-Westonka on Thursday.
