MANCHESTER CITY coach Angelo Gregucci has refused to confirm whether Mario Balotelli will stay at the club, following his latest row with boss Roberto Mancini.

The controversial striker was left out of City's squad for the 2-1 victory over Tottenham on Sunday, after reports suggested the 22-year-old was out until the early hours the night before.

Although Gregucci said that he was confident of an improvement from Balotelli after Mancini's shock treatment, he was not able to say whether the former Inter Milan star would remain at the Premier League champions in the long-run.

City's impending pursuit of Liverpool's Luis Suarez in January has increased rumours that Balotelli could soon be leaving the Etihad Stadium.

"Mancini has chosen to give a signal, it is his right to make choices," Gregucci told Italy's Sky Sport 24.

"Perhaps during the past week, something was missing, but [Balotelli] is ready to take back the shirt of Manchester City.

"Will he remain? It's not for me to say, I only know that it [the situation] is clearly recoverable."
